Airless machines do require maintenance, you can extend the life of the wearable parts by care and attention to the handbook but after time essential components will wear out.
Packings are the seals that surround the piston and when your machine starts 'leaking' paint from the piston it is likely time to replace them
Using throat seal will lubricate the packings and conditioner will ease the initial wear if your machine has been out of action for a while and started to harden.
