Home » Airless SprayAirless SprayAirless Spray EquipmentAirless spray machines are used for high capacity application, of emulsion or masonry paint on walls etc. There are many other forms of spray application but the airless method is the most appropriate for decorators looking to speed up the task. The pumping methods vary and you could go for either a piston method or diaphragm. The piston pump is durable and can pump thicker products whereas diaphragm pumps require less maintenance and are often slightly cheaper. Look out for the specification referred to as litres per minute (LPM). This is a guide to the efficiency of the pump, the higher the better, you do not want a pump that has to work at its maximum to keep up - it will shorten its life. The maximum working pressure needs to be in excess of 2800psi to cope with mainline decorative products - more if possible. The maximum tip size will tell you the thickness of product the machine will pump. For emulsion a 17 thou tip is fine but for masonry paint you will need a minimum 19 thou tip. As building sites only allow 110V equipment - don't buy a 240V machine. If you are going to be using it commercially you can still use a 110V machine on a 240V supply with a transformer.
